What would be the sense in that? The guilty party is on trial and the NFL is handling the matter responsibly. There have been athletes guilty of committing worse crimes, such as killing people and I'm sure there was no specific clause to the affect that they shouldn't. I'm certain their code of ethics they currently have in place is inclusive of animal cruelty. Would you hold the government accountable for money that isn't there for retiring baby boomers and propose them to pay out of their pockets, after robbing Peter to pay Paul? That's a silly notion and as many heinous crimes that occur, I can't believe a higher value is placed on the lives of canines versus people.
